Log cabins and wooden houses in Montenegro
Log cabins of solid timber for year-round living, weekends and holiday rentals. We prepare the beams in our workshop near Rožaje and assemble them on your plot, from a small log cabin to a whole tourist village.
A log cabin of real timber
A log cabin is a house whose walls are made of solid timber beams. We use real solid wood, dried to a precise moisture content, with visible joints that show the craft instead of hiding it.
The log cabins we build look like real mountain houses and perform like modern ones: they have an insulated roof and foundation, good ventilation and finishes that protect the wood without sealing it.
- Spruce, fir and pine, and oak for load-bearing beams
- Classic mountain style or a modern log cabin
- Roof and foundation insulation with no heat loss
- Natural finishes, so the wood breathes and lasts longer
- A holiday home, a family house or several log cabins in a village

A log house for year-round living
For a long time a log cabin was the choice for a holiday home, but more and more often we build log houses for year-round living: with a modern kitchen, underfloor heating and large glazed areas facing the garden, and a solid timber structure that gives the space its character.
Before the design, we visit the plot and suggest a layout. Sun, wind and moisture directly affect the comfort and durability of the house, so orientation is not a minor question.
On every log cabin we pay attention to the details you do not see at first but feel for years: the joints, the beam cross-section, the insulation layer and the attic ventilation. We make the interior in our own workshop, from stairs and cladding to furniture.

Maintenance and durability
The outer coating of a log cabin is renewed with natural finishes every 4 to 6 years. The structure itself needs no special work.
A properly insulated log cabin is warmer than many traditional houses: the wood holds the heat and releases it evenly back into the room.

Do you build tourist villages of log cabins?
Yes. We especially enjoy projects with several log cabins in a row and shared facilities. See holiday rentals.
Can you live in a log cabin all year round?
Yes. More and more often we build log houses with a modern kitchen, underfloor heating and large glazed areas.
What is the difference between a log cabin and a prefab house?
A log cabin has walls of solid beams, while a classic prefab house has walls of insulated panels with the facade of your choice. A log cabin gives the look of real wood, a prefab house more freedom in how the facade looks. There is also a hybrid option that combines both.
